Terrors waking that morning will find a few things amiss with the ship: 1. it's hot and humid inside their cabins, and 2. the ship itself is rocking.  Swaying, in fact, as though the ice beneath them has melted and the ship is moving. Which it is, actually, and quite quickly too.

The holes in the side of Terror have been repaired, the rigging put up on the masts, the dual wheels of the helm moving as the ship races through the waves on its own. Up above the sun is shining brightly.
H.M.S. Terror is sailing once more, destination unknown.

"I suspect I have a lot to learn about your type of magic," she says. Imagine, at her age, a completely new discipline of magic she's never even heard of. The world truly is full of wonders. She makes a face at the mention of necromancy, though. There is no magic she can think of other than the Dark Arts that has anything to do with raising the dead, and she wants nothing at all to do with that.

"What are these 'Charter Stones?'"

"Stones with Charter marks running through them. They serve as a way to access the Charter and as a place to keep the Dead away. Some free magic magicians like to try and break them because it acts as an easier barrier into death," she manages to explain before hesitating. "That...probably doesn't make much sense."

"It will probably make more sense with time and more explanation," she agrees. It's not as though she expected something entirely new to her to become clear in the course of a single conversation. "Its a good start, though. I imagine we all have a great deal to learn from one another."

"I think so, Ms. McGonagall," she tells her softly. "But please don't be afraid to use your magic around the ones that don't have it. They're used to it, mostly, and it's actually magic that is controlled, rather than something ridiculous the dream does."

She nods slowly. "I admit--I am not accustomed to performing magic on front of Muggles. It breaks a number of laws in my own world. But I can certainly see your point, especially in a setting such as this one."

"I understand," she nods and holds up her book. "I need to finish reading this, I think. But...perhaps we can talk more about it later? The three of us?"

"Of course." She smiles. "I would like that very much, whenever you like."

She offers her a hand, then chuckles. "Soon," she promises. "Thank you."

Professor McGonagall smiled at the offered hand, charmed, and reached out to shake it. "I look forward to it."

Sabriel goes along her way, glad that she could make some sort of positive impression on the woman on behalf of the other wizards.
